Mr. Woodrow "Monkey" I. Porter Sr., age 53 of Woodville, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Originally from Wakulla County, Mr. Porter grew up in the Spring Creek area. He was a graduate of Wakulla High School. He spent some time as a field technician in the petroleum/gas industry. Mr. Porter was a kind and giving man, willing to help anyone he could. He was also a man who loved life and loved living it. In his spare time, Mr. Porter liked to do repair work and go fishing. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his son: Woodrow (Heather) Porter Jr. of Woodville; daughter: Beth Ann Porter of Tallahassee; mother: Peggy Porter of Tallahassee; brothers: Ronald (Kim) Porter of Azle, TX, Wayne Porter of Spring Creek and Coy Porter of Wakulla. Five grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his father: William "Pap" Porter. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, 904-259-4600.
