William Henry Sapp, age 80, passed away at his home in St. George on Thursday, November 2, 2023 with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Ft. Pierce on August 20, 1943 to the late Mr. James Monroe and Lounette (King) Sapp.
Best known to family and friends as “Bill” or “Billy”, Mr. Sapp ran his own air conditioning and radiator shop in Ft. Pierce for many years before settling in the Georgia Bend about fifteen years ago. He met Ms. Sharon Daniels in the mid nineties, and they were married in 2001. They bonded over their love for the outdoors, enjoying rides in the woods and nature. They were able to take Bill’s dream trip across the country, originally planned for three weeks, but turned into a six-week excursion and they loved every mile of it. Mr. Bill taught Ms. Sharon how to play poker and they would travel for tournaments around Florida. He taught her too well, because she would end up winning more tournaments than he ever did. He was passionate about hunting and fishing, but was also an animal lover who had several fur babies at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Lola Marie Ernsberger.
He is survived by his beloved wife: Sharon Sapp of St. George; children: Steve (Camille) Sapp of Ft. Pierce and Sheila Holland of Gainesville; four grandchildren: Sara Sapp, Brandon Holland, Tara Holland, and Alyssa Holland; siblings: Grady Sapp, Bertie Browning, and Kathy (George) Smith all of Ft. Pierce; as well as a host of extended family members.
Final memorialization will be by cremation.
