Wanda Gail Thigpen

Wanda Gail Thigpen, 69, of Macclenny, Florida, went to be with Jesus on Friday, September 27, 2024, at her home with her husband by her side. Wanda was born on July 24, 1955, in Milledgeville, Georgia, where she grew up and graduated high school. After high school, Wanda spent a short time in Columbia, South Carolina, and many years in Jacksonville, Florida, before moving to Macclenny. Wanda held many positions in her professional career, most notably in office management.

In her spare time, she loved watching Florida Gator football, fishing with her husband, reading, browsing the local flea markets, and spending time at the beach. Wanda was also known for her love of shoes, jewelry, and pampering herself. She also loved listening to her husband pick his guitar and sing. Above all else, Wanda’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Mr. Donald W. Thigpen, Sr.; children: Sean Paige, Michael (Rhonda) Geisert, Jesse (Porsche) Rehill, Heather Matthews, Donald (Jennifer) Thigpen, Jr., Angela (Bill) Thigpen, Josh Wilkerson, and Amber (Chris) Kneessi; seventeen grandchildren; mother: Harlene Holtkamp; and brother: Edward Bell, as well as a host of other extended family members and friends.

Wanda was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home at 1:00 PM.
