Velma Crawford

Ms. Velma Stokes Crawford, age 94 of Macclenny, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013. Born in Grand Crossing, Florida to the late Walter and Mollie O'Steen Stokes, Ms. Crawford was a longtime resident of St. George, Georgia. She was a homemaker who loved being with her family and friends when she wasn't fishing. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Ms. Crawford was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Harold Crawford. She is survived by her two daughters; Claudette Crawford of Macclenny and Pennie (Billy) Weldon of Tavares, Fl. , 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00am, Monday, September 16, 2013 at Boone's Creek Cemetery in St. George, Georgia with Reverend James Conner officiating. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorials can made to Community Hospice of Jacksonville 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
