Tony Crawford

Tony Crawford, 84, of Hawthorne passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville.
A longtime resident of Baker County, Mr. Crawford relocated to Hawthorne 15 years ago after meeting Mrs. Ruby, who later became his wife.
Mr. Tony was born January 2, 1935 to the late Mr. Alton B. and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Kirkland) Crawford in Macclenny.
Tony went on to be an electrician, working for different businesses until settling in with Miller Electric Company, dedicating 49 years there before retiring. He was a member of IBEW Local 177.
In his spare time, Mr. Crawford enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. When he found the time, he also enjoyed traveling, his favorite destinations being the mountains and Lochloosa Lake. He loved his family and friends, in particularly his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by parents, his wife Mrs. Catherine Crawford, and his daughter, Tammy McFarland.
He leaves behind his wife of 12 years, Ruby Crawford of Hawthorne; son: Wayne (Annette) Crawford of Jacksonville; grandchildren: Tony Crawford and Dustin Crawford; great-grandchildren: Ethan Crawford, Leland Crawford, and Carlee Crawford; brother: Tommy (Gail) Crawford of Macclenny; step-children: Wilbur (Ellen) Hutchins of Hawthorne, Debra (Steve) Broker of Dillsboro, North Carolina, Brenda (Rick) Pfeifer of Orlando, and Carla (Chuck) Gibson of Gray, Georgia; brother-in-law: Al Crozier Jr. of California; sister-in-law: Beverly Turner of Fleming Island; 11 step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; his beloved dog Chico; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will be receiving friends Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny.
A funeral service to honor Mr. Tony's life will begin at 11:00 am on Friday in the chapel, with Rev. David Thomas officiating.
He will be laid to rest following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the E.T. York Hospice Care Center.
