Mr. Tommy "Tom" Gerald Johns II, age 53 of Macclenny, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016. Born in Jacksonville, Mr. Johns spent his childhood and school years in Baker County, and graduated from Baker County High School in 1981. He was a proud military veteran, serving in both the United States Marine Corps and the US Army. During his service, Mr. Johns did three tours in Japan, Korea, and the Philipines. He was a member of the Florida National Guard from 1990 to 1997 and served with the Arizona National Guard from 1997 until his retirement in 2014. Upon retiring, he returned to Baker County to be near his children and grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. Mr. Johns enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, hunting, and was an avid Florida Gator football fan. He is survived by his son: Zachary G. Johns of Macclenny; daughter: Olivia (Trey) McCullough of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Gabriel Johns, Gavin Johns, Braylen McCullough, Zayden Johns, and Bryleigh Kate McCullough; sister: Leslie (Eddie) McGee of Camden, Tennessee; uncle: Jimmy (Peggy) Johns of Macclenny; and children's mother: Alicia Looby Johns of Tuscon, AZ. Numerous other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Tommy G. and Lois J. Collie Johns. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastors David Thomas and Tim Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Macclenny. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the church.
