Thomas Jaudon Adams, age 91 of Glen St. Mary passed away early Sunday morning, January 7, 2024 at his home. A resident of Baker County since 1977, Tom was born in Jacksonville on April 17, 1932 to the late William and Sarah (McKinley) Adams. He grew up attending the Jacksonville Heights Baptist Church, where his mother and father were charter members.
At the age of 28, Tom set out to become a dairy farmer and opened “AAA Dairy”. From 1960 until 1977, Mr. Tom operated his farm in Jacksonville with the help of his family. Together, they were able to win several dairy quality awards and were known to have the cleanest milk around. In 1977, the family, as well as the dairy farm, moved to Baker County and their success continued until 2001 when Mr. Tom decided he had put enough time into dairy farming.
Alongside producing some of the best milk in the State of Florida, Mr. Adams was busy serving his community, as he was elected Baker County Commissioner for District 5 in 1984 and proudly served one term. Another large part of Mr. Tom’s life was being a member of Dawkins Masonic Lodge #60 and was a Mason for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: John Adams and George Adams; his first wife and the mother of their children: Mrs. Bobbie Adams; his second wife: Linda Adams; and a son: Dewey Adams.
He leaves behind a great legacy, his children: Phillip Adams, Robert Adams, Edward Adams, Walt (Christine) Adams, and Amanda Morris all of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Phillip, Jr., Lacy, Cassandra, Dillon, Brooke, Jody, Sarah Jo, Sarah Elizabeth, Diane, and Thomas; seventeen great-grandchildren; as well as a few great-great grandchildren and large host of extended family members and friends.
A service to honor Mr. Tom’s life will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends in the chapel beginning at 2:00 PM. Final memorialization will be by cremation.
