Ms. Edith Yarbrough, age 76 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016. Ms. Yarbrough was a long time Baker County resident, having lived in the county since 1964. She was a charge aide at Northeast Florida State Hospital for thirty three years at the time of her retirement. She was a very athletic woman, who not only played, but also coached softball, and was affectionately called "Mama Yarbrough" by her teammates and players. Ms. Edith enjoyed socializing and visiting with her friends and working outdoors in her yard. She was of the Baptist faith and believed in putting others first. She especially loved her family and her puppies: "Choco" and "LuLu". She is survived by her son: Clayton (Donna) Yarbrough Jr. of Macclenny; daughters: Debra (Rodney) Riddle of Jacksonville, Dee Hadley and Rebecca Williams both of Macclenny, and Norma Yarbrough of Glen St. Mary; brother: Glen (Sherry) Rowe of Callahan; sisters: Agnes (Bob) Campbell and Gladys Jones all of Callahan. Eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Andrew Jackson and Elizabeth Stokes Rowe and her grandson: Shawn Hall. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Raiford Road Church with Pastor Eddie Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at Mill Creek Cemetery in Nassau County.
