Mr. Tex E. Rhodes, Sr., age 69 of Middleburg, Florida, and formerly of Palm Valley, Florida, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017. He was born in Abilene, Texas to the late Lee and Lottie Earnest Rhodes. As a young man growing up in Texas, Mr. Rhodes played drums for several country bands. A master wood craftsman, he owned and operated Woodtech Interior Trim Company for many years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Palm Valley Post 233 American Legion and Palm Valley Baptist Church, Palm Valley, Florida. Mr. Rhodes enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wood-working. He also loved music and dancing. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted man and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his son: Tex E. (Cheryl) Rhodes, Jr., of Middleburg; daughter: Alyshia Rhodes Green of Palm Valley; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Melva K. Rhodes Copeland. A celebration of his life will be held 12:30pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Ronnie Van Zant Memorial Park, Green Cove Springs, Florida.
