Stephen Sands

Stephen William Sands, 48, of Sanderson, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County. He retired from the Florida Department of Corrections and was the former owner of Sands Land Clearing. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his sons: Nick Sands and Justin Sands of Sanderson, Mathew Sands of St. George, GA, and Mitch Davis of Sanderson; daughter: Kayse Sands of St. George, GA; brothers: George Franks of Glen St. Mary, Buddy Franks of Sanderson, Kay Sands of New Orleans, LA, and Chance Johnson of Macclenny. Three grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Moniac Baptist Church, Moniac, GA. Interment will follow at North Prong Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Moniac Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of FORBES FUNERAL HOME, Macclenny 904-259-4600.
