Samuel Heron Lindsey, age 77 of Glen St. Mary passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023 at his residence. Born in Coleman, Alabama, Sam was the son of Johnny Lindsey and JC and Hattie (Sinyard) Harvey. He was born December 5, 1945.
Sam was widely known as a hard working man, working as a boilermaker for over forty years and was a member of Local 199. Before that, he was a part of the Ironworkers Union 597.
Mr. Sam was also a talented musician and loved playing bluegrass music. He enjoyed watching Florida Gator sports and those who were closest to him knew he had a kind heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Trina Harvey and Jeanine Harvey; and step-sons: Timothy Phillips and Ken Phillips.
He is survived by his wife: Kyra Lindsey of Glen St. Mary; children: Ashleigh Lindsey and Samuel (Delana) Lindsey both of Glen St. Mary; step-son: Dwayne Phillips of Glen St. Mary; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings: John Lindsey and Jasper Lindsey both of Coleman, Alabama, and Nancy Booth and Charlene Wright both of Glen St. Mary; as well as a host of extended family members.
A Celebration of Sam’s Life will be held Friday, April 7, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Cedar Creek Church. Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
