Rodney Davis

Rodney Scott Davis Sr., age 36, of Sanderson, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 after an extended illness. He was born August 8, 1975 to Rita Davis of Sanderson, Florida and Terrell Godwin of Taylor, Florida. He was a life long resident of Baker County and a member of Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church of Sanderson. He was a member of Millwright Local Union #2411 of Jacksonville for 10 years and the Masonic Lodge #122 of Sanderson. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to church, hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed playing church volleyball and participating in Baker County Little League. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 17 years, Lori Davis; son: Rodney S. Davis Jr.; daughters: Kansas Joanna Davis, Katilyn Louise Davis, and Kassie Leann Davis all of Sanderson; mother: Rita Faye Davis of Sanderson; father: Terrell (Patricia) Godwin of Taylor; sisters: Lisa (Ben) Alexander of Nahunta, GA, Jamie Kay (Scott) Mann of Jacksonville and Katie Godwin of Taylor; his dearest Grandmother: Shirley Davis of Sanderson; numerous family and friends also survive and will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his beloved Papa, Bud Davis of Sanderson and his grandfather Carl Godwin of Taylor. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00pm at Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church, Sanderson, Florida with Reverends Tim Alford, Eddie Sanders, and Allen Crews officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Sanderson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at Dinkins New Congregational Methodist Church.
