Richard Lee Kitchens Sr., age 72 of Middleburg passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital. He was born on October 18, 1948 in Dallas County, Texas to the late Mr. Jim and Vena (Sims) Kitchens. “Rick” would serve proudly in the United States Army and later settle in Jacksonville area. He worked for many years in the automotive industry, holding management positions for many years for dealerships like Regency Dodge, Orange Park Dodge, and Bill Heard Chevrolet. Rick had a passion for motorcycles as well. Even though he was known as a workaholic, Rick loved to spoil his children in his free time. He was a very family-oriented man and loved to spend time with his kids. He enjoyed living on the river, boating, and fishing. He was very giving and would often buy gifts at Christmas time for children in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 19 years, Mrs. Monica Kitchens of Middleburg; children: Richard “Lee” (Hattie Bramlitt) Kitchens Jr., Dillon Ray Kitchens, Savannah Kitchens, Johnathan Kitchens, and David Kitchens; one grandchild: Tucker Kitchens; as well as other extended family members.

Private services will be held at a later date.
