Pete F. Sizemore

Mr. Pete F. Sizemore, Jr., age 93 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Friday, August 5, 2016. A long time Baker County resident, Mr. Sizemore was born in Illinois to the late Pete and Mary Etta Sizemore Sr. He was a pilot in the United States Navy and served for twenty one years. Upon his Navy retirement, he became a private pilot, flying for Jacksonville National Bank and the State of Florida. For a time, he enjoyed building go kart engines and racing go karts in Maxville and Macclenny. He enjoyed boating, skiing, and fishing. He was a fan of all sports but he especially loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Mr. Sizemore was also an avid golfer. He will be remembered as a very kind and giving person. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years: Sara Sizemore; daughter: Danielle Sizemore and granddaughter: DeAnna Brown, both of Jacksonville; niece: Toni Raulerson of Macclenny; brother-in-law: Carl Brantley Fraser of Macclenny; and sisters-in-law: Fay (Conny) Fiser of Macclenny and Marion (Virgil) Raulerson of Lake City. Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Reverend David Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. Mary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny, 904-259-4600.
