Obituary - Penny W. Katsacos Following a lengthy battle with systemic sclerosis, Penny W. Katsacos, age 59, life long resident of Macclenny, FL passed away peacefully Thursday, November 3, 2011, at St. Vincent's Hospital surrounded by loving family and friends. Penny will long be remembered for her love of life, including gardening, cooking, camping, traveling, fishing, boating, gospel singing, and spending time with family and friends. Her quick wit, amazing sense of humor, and sense of adventure brought joy and laughter to all who had the pleasure of being in her life. Penny was a great leader and motivator known for leading by example, straightforward communications, stubborn determination, and perseverance in the face of great adversity. Penny retired in 2007 after 33 1/2 years at Northeast Florida State Hospital where she was employed as a psychiatric aide, registered nurse, nurse manager, and Director of Nursing. Penny was an active member of Christian Fellowship Temple (CFT) where she sang in the choir and performed in the puppet ministry. Penny's love of Jesus was evident in her compassion for people and generous spirit. Penny was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Willa Jean Walker, and husband, James A. Katsacos. Survivors include sons Nick Katsacos (Tamara), Joey Katsacos (Ashley), both of Macclenny; brothers, Danny Walker (Charlotte), St. Pete Beach, Keith Walker (Denise), Glen St. Mary, Kevin Walker (Teresa), Macclenny; sister, Jean Marie Brazell (Mike), Kingsland, GA; Best Friend Forever, Debby Norman; ten nieces and nephews. Family visitation will take place Friday, November 4, 2011, from 6 - 8p at Christian Fellowship Temple, 251 Ohio Ave, Macclenny. A Celebration of Life service will take place Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 11a at the church. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions Fund at CFT.
