Penny Jernigan

Mrs. Penny Ray Jernigan, age 50 of Okeechobee and formerly of Macclenny, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Mrs. Jernigan was a homemaker who loved her children, nieces, and nephews and was at her happiest with a child in her arms. She is survived by her husband: Paul Jernigan; sons: Andrew Max Jernigan and Christian Douglas Jernigan both of Okeechobee; daughters: Natasha Dawn Jernigan of Colorado, Patricia Starr (Blake) Cannon of Zolfo Springs, Florida, Ashley Nicole Hughes of Hee Haw Junction, Florida, and Brittany Michelle Hutson of Zolfo Hills, Florida; mother: Mattie Ray of Macclenny; brothers: Billy (Carlene) Ray of Okeechobee, Ricky Ray of Macclenny, Johnny (Wendy) Ray of Jacksonville, and Randy Ray of Macclenny; sisters: Diane (Myron) Crews of St. George, Georgia, Vernel (Jack) Chesser and Linda (Billy) Raulerson all of Moniac, Georgia, Nancy Johns of Macclenny, Cathy Lee of Sanderson, and Sandy (Wendell) Nichols of Folkston, Georgia. Seven grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her father: Charlie Ray; and brothers: Danny Ray, Charlie Ray Jr. and Bobby Don Ray. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Call Cemetery, Worthington Springs, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
