Norma Smith Owens

A Tribute to My Beautiful Norma 

October 25, 1944-November 29, 2024 

 Mrs. Norma Smith Owens, age 80 of Glen St. Mary, FL passed away Friday morning, November 29th, at home following an extended illness. Mrs. Norma was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Belmont P. Smith Sr. and Vertie Virginia Smith. She spent most of her life as a resident of Baker County, Florida, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

 Mrs. Owens enjoyed cooking, sewing, watching action movies, and walking on the beach. She especially loved taking trips to the mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina where she would captain the family's exciting motorcycle rides through the mountains.

Mrs. Owens loved her family and will be greatly missed.

 She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Belmont Smith, Jr. Mrs. Owens is survived by her loving husband, Oran James (Jim) Owens: two sons, Harold Sharp (Tina) of Macclenny, FL and Mike Tillman (Marlene) of Lawtey, FL: two daughters, Coralee Owens of Glen St. Mary, FL, and Tina Tillman of Macclenny, FL: two brothers, Jimmy Smith of Salt Lake City, UT and Randy Smith (Vikki) of Crystal River, FL: four sisters, Paula Diquattro (Paolo) of Salt Lake City, UT, Roma Solberg (Craig) of Jacksonville, FL, Yvonna Smith of Tampa, FL and Rebecca Bruce (Frank) of Australia. Nineteen grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren also survive.

 A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Smith will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, December 3rd in the Chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 1 to 2 P.M. (one hour prior to funeral services).
