Ms. Minnie Lee Redding, 94 of Lawtey passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Custead Hospice Care Center in Orange Park after a brief illness.

A lifelong resident of Lawtey, Ms. Minnie was born October 28, 1925 to the late Mr. Chalker and Daisey (Rosier) Pringle.

Minnie spent her life being a caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid quilter and gardener. She was a foster mother for many years, and it was believed that over forty foster children spent time in the Redding home. Everyone who knew Ms. Minnie knew her to be a godly woman.

She was a member of Madison Street Baptist Church in Starke since 1999. Prior to that, she was a Sunday school teacher and the Youth Director at Evergreen Baptist Church in Lawtey.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandsons: Andy Redding and Alan Redding, and her beloved husband of 77 years, Mr. Lonnie Arthur Redding Sr.

She leaves behind to cherish the memories her sons: Lonnie (Alethia) Redding Jr. of Hampton, Billy Redding of Palatka, Jerry (Carol) Redding and Roger (Karen) Redding all of Lawtey; daughter: Joy (Ronnie) Beck of Middleburg; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends at Madison Street Baptist Church, Starke from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, February 28th, 2020.

Funeral services to honor Ms. Minnie's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Madison Street Baptist Church, Starke, with her grandson Rev. Ricky Beck and Pastor Charles Warren officiating.

She will be laid to rest following the service at Long Branch Cemetery, Clay County.
