Melissa Gayle Burnsed

Melissa Gayle Burnsed, 57 of the Georgia Bend passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Custead Care Center in Orange Park.
She was a native of Jacksonville, where she attended Lee High School. She was born on December 5, 1961 to the late Fred B. Stivender and Nancy Dubberly Magruder.
Melissa was a dedicated wife and mother for many years. She was well known at the Baker County Little League Association while holding several positions over the years. She served for over six years with the Baker County Standard as a writer. Melissa will be remembered for her willingness to help others.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 38 years.
She is survived by her son: Brian Burnsed of Macclenny; brothers: Fred (Lori) Stivender Jr. of Macclenny and Michael Magruder of Jacksonville; sisters: Martha (Greg) Chapman and Helen Stivender all of the Georgia Bend; nephews: Jeff (Jessica) Shouse of St. Johns, Matt (Amanda) Shouse of Macclenny, Jason Hart of the Georgia Bend, Kyle (Courtney) Hall and Trace Stivender all of Macclenny; nieces: Alicia Hart of Jacksonville and Kristy Stivender of Macclenny; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
The family will be receiving friends Monday, October 28, 2019 in the Family Memorial Chapel of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
A graveside service to honor her life will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Blackmon officiating.
