Maybell Fraser

Maybell Fraser, age 81 of Macclenny passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincents Riverside Hospital. Maybell was born in Jacksonville on March 21, 1943 to the late Harmon “Boot” and Mary (Moats) Davis. Maybell worked for a extended period of time at Northeast Florida State Hospital. In her spare time, Ms. Maybell enjoyed tending to her plants and chickens. She had a green thumb and was very protective over her chickens. She was a tough, independent woman who was always welcoming to family and friends. She also loved traveling with her best friend, Anna.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Melanie Davis and Jean Davis.

She is survived by her children, Melvin Strauder of Jacksonville, Mark Strauder of Lake City, Ivy Kleina of North Dakota, Kimberly Strickland of Macclenny, and Pamela Starnes of Scott, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, William Davis, Darriell Davis, and Marilyn Raulerson; special friend, Anna; as well as extended family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Creek Cemetery with Chaplain Terry Yerby officiating. Family will receive friends at 10:30 AM at the cemetery.
