Mrs. Mavis Sigers, age 85 of Macclenny, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016. Mrs. Sigers was a lifelong Baker County resident and one of the last living charter members of the Mount Zion New Congregational Methodist Church in Macclenny. She was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, and embroidery. She especially loved working in her yard, gardening and tending to her flowers. She is survived by her daughters: Beverly (Riley) Lauramore of Macclenny, Marsha (Don) Keene of Glen St. Mary, and Wanda Norman of Macclenny. Six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Elzy M. Sigers, parents: Sebron and Vesta McClendon; brother: Cecil McClendon, sister: Betty Faye Gow, grandson: Tony Hall, great, great grandson: Nathan Crews-Jackson, and son-in-law: Ronnie Norman. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the chapel at Forbes Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Macclenny.
