Mary Griffis

Ms. Mary Alice Griffis, age 70 of Starke, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013. A retired seamstress, Ms. Griffis enjoyed watching TV and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She is survived by her son: Daniel Griffis of Starke; daughter: June Neats of Starke; brothers: William Lee Hughes of Middleburg and James Franklin (Linda) Hughes of Savannah, GA; sister: Mary Louise Ayers of Enterprise, AL; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph E. Griffis Sr.; sisters: Willie Mae Dotson and Esse Pearl Hughes; and a brother: J.D. Hughes. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, July 26, 2013 at Forbes Funeral Home chapel with Reverend David Hodges officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Raiford. The family will receive friends 5-7:00pm, Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of FORBES FUNERAL HOME, 380 N.
