Mary Esther Fletcher
May 1, 1933 — March 27, 2019
Ms. Mary "Esther" Fletcher, age 85 of Macclenny, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab with her family by her side.
Ms. Esther was born in Sanderson to the late Mr. Spencer and Mary (Fouraker) Thomas on May 1, 1933. She spent the majority of her life as a resident of Baker County.
Ms. Esther's pride was her family, raising her kids and spending time with them and her grandchildren. She was a member of Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church for the last 10 years and also was a Baker County Polls officer for nearly 20 years.
In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and baking cakes for family and friends. She loved collecting knick-knacks. She will be remembered as a loving, caring, and social woman who never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings and her husband of 40 years, Mr. Frank Ray Fletcher Sr.
She is survived by her sons: Frank (Dana) Fletcher Jr. of Charleston, Curtiss (Rhonda) Fletcher and Robert (Belinda) Fletcher all of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren: Andrea Rogers, Katie Rhoden, Brittany Sobering, Elizabeth Thomas, Luke Fletcher, Tristan Fletcher, Jacy Fletcher, and Kristy Mobley; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 30, 2019 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Macclenny Primitive Baptist Church.
Ms. Esther will be laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery immediately following the services on Sunday.
