Linda Sands

Mrs. Linda Sue Sands, age 66 of Macclenny, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015. A lifelong Baker County resident, Mrs. Sands was formerly employed at Northeast Florida State Hospital as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She enjoyed attending church and singing at Pine Level Church in Baxter where she was a member and along with her sister and son, was part of the "Pine Level Singers". She enjoyed travelling to the mountains, shopping, and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years: Mr. Kay Sands of Macclenny; sons: Robert R. Griffis of Macclenny, Daryl (Sabrina) Griffis and Brian (Nancy) Griffis, all of Glen St. Mary, and Jeremy (Leslie) Sands and Clayton (Kelly) Sands all of Macclenny; brothers: Carl "Buddy" (Debbie) Harvey of Macclenny, Paul (Debbie) Harvey of Glen St. Mary, Tony Harvey and Jerry "Crip" Harvey both of Macclenny; sisters: Joyce "Cooter" (Dave) Rhoden of Macclenny, Valerie "Midge" (David) Thomas of Raleigh, NC, Margie (Tom) Mann of Sanderson and Delta Kay Dugger of Baldwin. Fourteen grandchildren and numerous other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Ernestine Davis Harvey and her grandson: Robert "RJ" Griffis. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Pine Level Church in Baxter with Pastor Fred Raulerson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny.
