Mr. Leroy Sevola Washington, age 62, of Glen St. Mary, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 after an extended illness.
Leroy was born on October 31, 1955 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Mrs. Elizabeth Washington.
A native and longtime resident of Jacksonville, Mr. Washington relocated to Baker County in 2002 after marrying his loving wife, Patricia. Before retiring, Mr. Leroy worked as a sandblaster for many years in the power generation industry. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and visiting flea markets around the area. He also had a love for seafood. He was a true family man who would go out of his way to make sure his children and grandchildren were taken care of. He will be remembered as a kind hearted and generous man.
Mr. Washington is survived by his wife of 16 years: Patricia Washington of Glen St. Mary; son: Virgil Washington of Jacksonville; daughters: Denise Washington and Genise Washington both of Jacksonville; stepdaughter: Angela (Jamie) Hancock of Glen St. Mary; brother: Gaylon Washington of Tampa; sister: Helen Pollen of Jacksonville; numerous grandchildren; and also multiple nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and stepson: Christopher Johnson.
