Leland A. "L.A." Whitehead

Mr. Leland A. "L.A." Whitehead, age 77 of Macclenny, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. Mr. Whitehead was born to the late Alexander and Florence H. Whitehead and was a lifelong Baker County resident. Mr. Whitehead was a retired mechanic with the county road department and an assistant pastor at Nolan Ridge Church in Maxville for many years. He was a family man and loved spending time with them . He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and farming. He is survived by his wife of nineteen years: Maryann Whitehead; sons: David (Audrey) Whitehead and Robert (Reginia) Whitehead, all of Middleburg; daughter: Angie (Johnny) Crump of Maxville; stepsons: Larry Rowe of Macclenny and Marcus (Mindy) Rowe of Jacksonville; sisters: Margaret Harris of Jacksonville and Trudy Siddle of Texas; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Thursday, February 1, 2018 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny. 904-259-4600.
