Lee Spears

Mr. Lee Nell Spears, age 86 of Spring Creek, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015. He was the son of the late Willie and Nellie Whaley Spears, and was a lifelong resident of Spring Creek. Mr. Spears was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return from service, he married Ms. Barbara, his wife of almost sixty one years, and they started a family and a business. He was the owner and operator of Lee N. Spears and Sons Seafood and loved fishing and crabbing; not only as his occupation, but for recreation as well. Commercial fishing was his life and he was well known for his fishing expertise. He loved his family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Spears; sons: Lee Allen Spears and Mitchell Spears; daughter: Annette (Louie) Clark; and brother: Willie Jack "Doodlebug" (Annie Mae "Teeny") Spears all of Spring Creek. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held graveside, 2:00pm Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Debra Nell Cemetery in Spring Creek with Reverend BB Barwick officiating.
