Joyce Ott

Mrs. Joyce M. Ott, age 85 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015. A forty year Baker County resident, Mrs. Ott was an active member of Glen Baptist Church, where she enjoyed participating in the 55 Plus Ministry. She was an exceptional baker and loved using her talent as an outreach ministry to the sick and shut-in. Mrs. Ott was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Florida Gator football and Atlanta Braves baseball. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved gardening and fishing. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sons: Tommy (Cindy) Ott of Glen St. Mary and Dennis (Deborah) Ott of Atlanta; daughters: Teresa (Robert) Dinkins and Kim (Randy) Higginbotham all of Glen St. Mary; sisters: Alynda (Paul) Forrester of Cairo, GA, Jane Nelson of Dothan, AL, and Evelyn McCorkle of Reno, GA; fourteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty seven years: Thomas Chason Ott; parents: J.G. and Sally McCorkle; brothers: Billy McCorkle, Woody McCorkle, and Jerry McCorkle; and sister: Doris Gainey. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Glen Baptist Church, Glen St. Mary with Pastor Randy Williams and Reverend Perry Hays officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Macclenny. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
