Mr. Johnnie Morris Crews, age 80 of Live Oak and formerly of Lake City, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Mr. Crews was born in Jacksonville to the late Johnnie H. and Lois Bray Crews. He spent many years as a manager for Independent Parts Warehouse in Jacksonville and Lake City. He also worked for the Department of Corrections for over twenty years. Mr. Crews was an avid Florida Gator fan and loved watching old westerns. He loved his family and always looked forward to attending family reunions and other family related functions. He will be remembered as an outgoing, friendly, yet humble man. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Crews of Live Oak; daughter: Katherine (Chris) Schell of Live Oak; brothers: William "Bill" (Elois) Crews and Jimmie Simmons, all of Macclenny; sisters: Joan Bardin of Jacksonville, Carolyn (George) Hatcher of St. Augustine, Frances (Don) Galler of Jacksonville, and Jackie (Bobby) Huggins of Macclenny; and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Lorraine Cale. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Monday, December 19, 2016 in the chapel at Forbes Funeral Home with Reverend David Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Lulu/Lake Butler. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
