John Grant Collins, known best as “Grant”, passed away surrounded by family at his home in Lake Butler on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the age of 53. Grant was born in San Diego on August 4, 1971 to Mr. Richard and JoBeth (Harrington) Collins. Grant would work for several years in law enforcement and was most recently a foreman in the construction industry.
Grant had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and long rides on his motorcycle. Above all, Grant was a loving father, brother, son and friend and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters, Kayla (Jace) Collins and Lyric (Chris) Murphy both of Macclenny; parents, Richard and JoBeth Collins of Keystone Heights; brothers, Paul (Sabrina) Collins of North Carolina and Adam (Abdul) Collins of Orlando; mother of his children and longtime friend, Amy (Jeremy) Cain of Macclenny; girlfriend, Norma Jean Hartline of Lake Butler; “bonus kids”, Savana (Lane Samples) Williams, Mackenzie Williams, and Dustin Davis; as well as a great host of extended family member and close friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Manntown Congregational Holiness Church. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM at the church with Rev. Tommy Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery.
