James Lynnwood Davis, Sr.

James Lynnwood Davis Sr., 71 of Glen St. Mary passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Douglas Hospice Center for Caring in Jacksonville. James was born March 31, 1949 to the late Mr. J.R. and Clarice (Hodges) Davis in Macclenny and was a lifelong resident of Baker county. He worked for many years at the Glen Nursery. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, and he loved being around his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Wendell Davis, daughter: Linda Davis, and a granddaughter: Jennifer Davis.

He leaves behind to cherish the memories, his beloved wife of 50 years, Ms. Nancy (Crawford) Davis; sons: James Davis Jr. and Richard Davis both of Macclenny; daughters: Michelle Davis, Jessica (Brian) Jewell, Terri Davis, and Kristen (Dustin) Starling all of Macclenny; Thirty Grandchildren; Eleven Great-Grandchildren; brothers: Larry (Tammy) Davis), Ronnie Davis, and Gerald (Susan) Davis; sisters: Darlene (Tommy) Johnson, Kathy Mette, Carol (Mack) Simmons, Wanda (Phillip) Blackburn, Robin Collins, and Regina (Eddie) Wheeler; as well as a host of extended family members.

The family will be receiving friends Thursday, October 29, 2020 in the Chapel of Forbes Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Forbes Funeral Home with Bro. Kyle Lloyd officiating. Mr. James will be laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery following the conclusion of services.
