James Charles Anderson

Mr. James Charles Anderson, age 68 of St. George, GA, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 18, 1950 in Charleston, South Carolina to the late Mr. Cecil and Edith Anderson.
A retired truck driver, Mr. Anderson was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Celebration Baptist Church of Macclenny and a resident of the area for the last 17 years, having formerly lived in St. Augustine, FL. Mr. James was a man of many passions, especially having an interest in motorcycles. An avid rider, he enjoyed traveling all over the country and taking in the scenery. While traveling with family, his favorite places to visit were the Smokey Mountains, Puerto Rico, and Sturgis, North Dakota. His other hobbies included being on the water, model airplanes and cars, and watching NASCAR, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr. He will be dearly missed by many.
In addition to his wife of 29 years, Mrs. Marian Anderson, he is survived by his daughters: Judi (Russell) Gombert of St. Cloud, Jamie Anderson of Jacksonville, Amanda (Scott) Wishard, and Joy Thomas all of St. Augustine; brothers: TJ Anderson of St. Augustine, Ronnie Anderson of Jacksonville, Bobby (Sonya) Anderson, and Billy Anderson all of Welaka; sisters: Mary Ann Ravan of North Dakota, Jean Anderson of St. George, Carol (Henry) Hodge of Hortense, GA, and Pat (Bill) Davidson of Jacksonville; grandchildren: James S. Anderson, Dalton Wishard, Breeanna Gombert, Bryan Gombert, Alonah Emerick; and also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Cecil and Edith (Googe) Anderson.
A celebration of Mr. Anderson's life will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:00 am, at the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny. Family will receive friends Saturday, at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny. 904-259-4600.
