James Elmer “Jimmy” Blount, age 72 of St. George passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital. He was born in Callahan on April 9, 1950 and was the son of the late Eugene and Juanita (Dalton) Blount. He worked for many years in road and bridge construction.

In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an avid fisherman. He loved to work around the house, tinkering on different things, and maintaining a beautiful yard. He was also a master woodworker. He enjoyed attending church with family and friends at Woodstock Park Congregational Holiness before moving his membership to Manntown to be closer to home.

He was preceded om death by his parents and siblings.

He is survived by his beloved wife of seven years: Mrs. Virginia “Ginger” Blount of St. George; daughter: Robin (Juan) Andres of Stony Point, North Carolina; numerous step children; a host of grandchildren; and all of his church family who adored him.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Manntown Congregational Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the church with Pastor David Hodges and Rev. George Dugger officiating. Interment will follow at Manntown Cemetery.
