Mrs. Henrietta Louise Yarbrough, age 95 of Macclenny, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Henrietta was born and grew up in Minersville, PA. She was one of eight children. As a teenager, she headed to Hollywood, CA to pursue a singing/dancing/acting career. A chance encounter at a sandwich shop, owned by Roy Yarbrough, changed everything. Less than a year later, Henrietta and Roy were married and lived in Taylor, FL. Eventually they moved to Macclenny and opened Roy's Service Station. Over the next 20 something years, Henrietta enjoyed greeting and visiting with everyone who stopped in, whether it was for service, gas or just a cold Coca Cola. Henrietta enjoyed fishing, gardening, needlework and many other crafts. She never made it to Hollywood, but always enjoyed singing, dancing and acting, though her performances were limited to mostly family. She truly was a star! She was raised a strict Roman Catholic, but she began attending Raiford Road Church in the late 1950's. In the early 1960's, while watching a Billy Graham Crusade on TV, she made the decision to enter into a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. She always got excited about sharing that story! Henri was a friend to all that met her and willingly gave unconditionally of herself, her love and all she had. She lived the past few years at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab. Over those years, the staff there became more family and friends than health care providers. She dearly loved each and everyone of them. She was blessed to have been lovingly cared for by the staff during those years and received the best of care by all. She is survived by her daughter: Mary Jane "Janie" (Mike) Dennard of Macclenny; grandchildren: George (Diane) Barg of Jacksonville, Judith (Luis) Perez of Colorado Springs, CO, and Brent Dennard of Macclenny; two great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; son-in-law: Bill Barg of Macclenny, and daughter-in-law: Kathleen Yarbrough of Kernersville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents: Michael and Dora Kuntz; all of her siblings; husband: Roy Yarbrough; children: Ruby Barg, Michael V. Yarbrough, and an infant son. A graveside service will be held 10:30am, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Taylor Cemetery, Taylor, Florida with Reverend Eddie Griffis officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, 380 N. Lowder St. Macclenny, FL 904-259-4600. Please sign the online guestbook at www.forbesfuneralhome.net
