Grover Lanna Brannen entered his eternal home on January 20, 2025 under the care of Community Hospice at St. Vincent’s Riverside. Born on June 30, 1932 to William and Lillie Brannen, Grover spent his youth in Jacksonville. He joined the US Airforce in 1952 and proudly served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His military service enabled him to travel all around the world. He retired from military service in 1975 and settled on family property and lived there until his passing. Grover spent the remainder of his career in civil service and fully retired in 1992. In 1994, he married Mary Walker. Mary introduced Grover to RV life and they enjoyed many years traveling in their motorhome. Some of their favorite trips were yearly visits to Biloxi, Mississippi and trips to Branson, Missouri. Another favorite hobby they shared was fishing, especially on the Ocklawaha River. Grover was extremely talented and could fix anything. He was the perfect example of “do-it-yourself”.

Grover was preceded in death by his parents, William H. Brannen and Lilli Harvey Brannen, his brothers, James Cleveland Brannen and Gene Otto Brannen, and his daughter, Tamela Marion Tidwell.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Walker Brannen, four daughters, Susan (Pete) Peters, Renee (Ken) Wallace, Mary Kay (Robert) Unkelbach-Hicks and Jeana (Phil) Duval, six grandchildren, Shawn (Jennifer) Peters, Christopher (Nicole) Kelley, Tommy (Kari) Peters, Dane Unkelbach, Klate Duval, and Caytlyn (Trevor) Peters, and seven great-grandchildren, Blakely, Harper, Emmett, Kinsley, Kenadee, Kade, and Jacqueline.

The family wishes to thank Community Hospice for their expert care and his special caregiver, Jasmine.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chas Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
