Gordon Edward Morgan, Jr.

Gordon Edward “Eddie” Morgan, Jr., age 70, of Macclenny, went to be with his Heavenly Father the morning of Saturday, December 14th, 2024 while at home with his wife.

Born in Marietta, Georgia, Eddie lived for many years in the Atlanta area where he met his wife, raised his family, and served the Lord. He recently retired in Macclenny after working for Pensacola Christian College since 2013. A quiet and kind man, Eddie’s clever humor often went unnoticed by those other than himself and his family. As a lifelong truck driver, he worked tirelessly for long hours to support his family and give to others. Never passing up a good deal, he could secure shoes, bicycles, and other treasures—even money laying on the ground. But the greatest treasure he found was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and a loving family through Him. 

He leaves behind his wife of 44 years Freda Joy Hearn Morgan; his children Chad Morgan (wife Michelle), Jonathan Morgan, Taylor Morgan, and Lisa Despres (husband Caleb); his 8 grandchildren; his siblings Pat West, Brenda Layton, and Rob Morgan; and his new church family at Law of Liberty Baptist Church of Jacksonville. He has left this earth, but is now in the place God has prepared for him (John 14:3).
