Gilbert S. Sanders

Mr. Gilbert S. Sanders, age 60 of Sopchoppy, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017. A lifelong Wakulla County resident, Mr. Sanders was a son of the late John Wooley and Pauline Revell Sanders. He spent most of his adult life working in the construction industry and worked for Residential Elevator Company for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and teaching them to take care of themselves. Mr. Sanders will be remembered as a kind and friendly man who loved his family. He is survived by his daughters: Farrah Sanders of Crawfordville, DeLisa Sanders and Shelby Sanders, both of Sopchoppy, and Leanne (Cody) Sanders of Panama City; sons: Dylan Sanders and Caleb Sanders, both of Sopchoppy; grandchildren: Bobbi Sanders, James Risilli, Giorgio Risilli, Cordelia Waugh, and J.R. Waugh; brothers: Willard (Sylvia) Sanders of Sopchoppy, Anthony (Shari) Sanders of Crawfordville, Jerry (Barbara) Sanders of Tallahassee, Richard (Pat) Sanders and Noel (Jan) Sanders, all of Crawfordville; and sisters: Callie (Richard) Strickland of Pennsylvania and Trixie Sanders of Tampa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Jack Sanders and James Sanders. A celebration of his life will be held graveside, 11:00am, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Revell Cemetery, Sopchoppy, Florida.
