Gerald Ray Wages

Gerald Ray Wages, age 53 of Macclenny passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Custead Care Center in Orange Park. He was born to the late Mr. Hubert Wages and Mrs. Verda “Fern” (Wells) Wages in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 28, 1969. Gerald was a master tradesman, working mainly as a carpenter but could build a house from the ground up.

In his spare time, Gerald enjoyed being around family, riding his motorcycle and tinkering around on cars. He was an avid Star Wars fan, and everyone knew him for his goofy personality. He will be remembered by those closest to him as one of the hardest workers they knew. He was an attending member of the First Assembly of God in Macclenny.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his beloved wife of twenty-eight years: Christina Wages.

He is survived by his children: Kristina (Sam) Griffis and Brandon Wages both of Macclenny; granddaughter: Mila Griffis; mother: Verda “Fern” Wages of Jacksonville; siblings: Steve Wages of Washington, Gary Wages of Lady Lake, Rick Wages, Larry Wages and Brenda Moore all of Jacksonville, and Jennifer (Alan) Presson of Keystone Heights; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will be receiving friends Friday, October 21, 2022 at First Assembly of God Macclenny at 11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Joshua Potts officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
