Mr. Franklin Dorman, age 80 of Sanderson, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his daughters home in Lake Butler on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Franklin was born in Sanderson on November 20, 1944 to Mr. Tholon and Verdie (Rhoden) Dorman. Franklin graduated from Baker County High School. He would be employed by the Florida Department of Corrections for over 30 years, working at Baker Correctional Institute as a warehouse manager until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Frankie (Johnny) Gaylard of Lake Butler; siblings, Tom (Diane) Dorman of Macclenny, Kay (Ken) Houpt of Gainesville, and “Dot” Woodruff of Jacksonville; as well as six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 10, 2025 at Cedar Creek Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Zach Zedar officiating.
