Ethel Canterbury

Ms. Ethel Mae Canterbury, age 78 of Jacksonville and formerly of Baker County, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. A retired seamstress, Ms. Canterbury enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, and bingo and was a volunteer at the Baker County Council on Aging. She loved baseball, football, and fishing. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Thomas of Jacksonville and Debbie (Craig) Kopcho of Orange Park; brother: Gary (Roberta) Kirkland of Elkin, FL; sister: Sherry Kirkland of Jacksonville; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Canterbury. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, August 23, 2014 in the chapel at Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny, Florida with Reverend Johnny Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Following the services, family and friends will be received at the residence of Shelly Paige (6480 Cooper Lane, Jacksonville, Florida 32210).
