Essie Lane

Mrs. Essie Marlene Lane, age 75 of Macclenny, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. Mrs. Lane was a homemaker who took great pride in keeping house and raising her family. She was an excellent seamstress who loved sewing, quilting by hand, and gardening. She especially enjoyed fishing, spending several weeks out of the year at North Beach in St. Augustine. She also loved spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 59 years: Mr. Alton Lane; sons: Richard (Joan) Lane of Macclenny and David (Agnes) Lane of Las Vegas, NV, daughters: Dicie (Patrick) Mobley of Macclenny, and Elizabeth Barton of Gainesville; brother: Eugene Curry of Lake Asbury; sisters:Geraldine (Jimmy) Grubbs of Hagerstown, MD and Alice Curry of Valdosta, GA; grandchildren: Jeremy Crawford, Kaleb Mobley, Tiffany Lane, Brandon Lane, Sheena Guynn, David Lane Jr., Byron Barton, and Jarrett Barton; ten great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny. 904-259-4600.
