Dwight Wray Davis, Jr.

Dwight Wray “Pete” Davis, Jr., 38, a lifelong resident of Sanderson passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Baptist Medical Center Downtown after a brief illness. He was born on November 7, 1985 to Dwight, Sr. and Linda (Sweat) Davis. Pete worked for several years in the construction industry as a machine operator. He loved to spend his free time with family, mainly his boys and nieces and nephews, fishing. Pete knew all the best spots along the creek to catch fish. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. Pete will be remembered by close friends and family as someone who was always there to lend a helping hand no matter what.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Cindy Davis.

He is survived by his sons, Kason and Bryson Davis of Sanderson; sisters, Lenor (Donnie) Rosier of Baldwin and Melinda Davis of Sanderson; brother, Brandon (Candace) Davis of Sanderson; nieces, Heather (Mitchell) Wight, Jessica (Jimbo) Dixon, and Mackinley and Kindall Davis; nephews, Donnie (Lacey) Rosier, Dylan (April) Rosier, and Bentley and Eli Davis; mother of his sons, Rebecca Harvey; special friends, Lora Rae and Bubba Harvey; as well as several great nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 11, 2024 in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A funeral service to honor Pete’s life will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Creek Church with Rev. Allen Crews officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
