Doyle Sapp

Mr. Doyle E. Sapp, age 83 of Sanderson, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012. A lifelong resident of Sanderson, he was the son of the late Walter D. and Sarah Norman Sapp. He loved riding horses, hunting quail, fishing and raising cows and corn. He was known for his ability to grow the best looking corn field on CR 229 South. He enjoyed attending Faith Baptist Church and loved gospel singing. He was a glass fabricator for twenty five years and retired from Northeast Florida State Hospital after ten years of service. Going to Hardees to enjoy a sausage and egg biscuit became a weekday ritual for him and his friends after retirement. He loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his son: Rocky (Joan) Sapp of Sanderson; daughters: Cathy (Gordon) Richardson, Teresa (Johnny) Richardson, Vicky (Mike) Carrigg all of Sanderson, and Annette Sapp-Barsch of Macclenny. Twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and twenty two step-great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Rhea Sapp. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny, with Reverend Tory Dismuke, Pastor David Thomas, and Reverend Tommy Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at South Prong Cemetery, Sanderson. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm, Monday, June 4, 2012 at Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny.
