Ms. Dorothy Mae Stephens, age 82 of Panacea, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. Born to the late Clyde and Bessie Tucker Aplin, she was a lifelong Wakulla County resident. Ms. Dorothy was a cook at the old B & K Drive In (now Stevens Seafood and Chicken) and at the Coastal Restaurant in Panacea for many years. Ms. Dorothy had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good practical joke. She was an avid reader and also loved traveling with her sisters. She was known for her memory and knowledge of local history and family genealogy. Ms. Dorothy loved God and her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons: Dell (Eloise) Spears of Tallahassee, LaRue (Jeanie) Spears of Excel, Alabama, Pat (Kathy) King of Panama City, Hank (Paula) Agerton and Mack Agerton, all of Panacea; daughters: Kay (Paul) Kenney of Wilmington, NC, Stephanie (Daniel) Barwick and Jean Stephens, all of Panacea; sister: Shirl Faye Brown of Blountstown; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Ray Stephens; sisters: Joyce Carraway and Nancy Barwick; and infant brother: Clyde M. Aplin Jr. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Panacea Full Gospel Assembly, Panacea, where she was a member. Pastor BB Barwick will officiate. Burial will follow at Duggar Cemetery, Crawfordville. Her family will welcome friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
