Dicie Laura Honeycutt

Ms. Dicie Laura Honeycutt, age 75 of Macclenny, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Ms. Honeycutt was born in Jacksonville to the late Joe and Dicie Crews Gonzalez. She grew up in Jacksonville and attended Paxon High School. She spent most of her adult life in Brunswick, Georgia and retired after more than twenty years at The Cloister in Sea Island, Georgia. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Macclenny to be closer to family. Ms. Honeycutt had a heart for people and enjoyed doing volunteer work. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music and attending church at First Christian Church in Macclenny, where she was a member. She loved spending time at home with her family and going to garage sales. She is survived by her daughters: Sondra (Jeff) Engel of Jacksonville, Teresa (Rudy) Duffy of St. George, Georgia, and Cassie Johnson (Ronnie Strickland) of Brunswick, Georgia; and brothers: Earl (Gail) Gonzalez of Macclenny, Donnie (Pam) Gonzalez of Sanderson, and Ronnie Gonzalez of Jacksonville. Five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister: Cora Lee Crawford. A celebration of her life will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, January 29, 2017 at First Christian Church, Macclenny with Pastor Douglas Allen officiating.
