Delia Thompson

Ms. Delia "Cissy/Prissy" Thompson, age 69 of Macclenny, and formerly of Lamont, Florida passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016. She was a daughter of the late James and Rachel Roebuck Thompson and a member of the 1965 graduating class of Jefferson County High School. Ms. Thompson was a pure-hearted, spiritual woman and was a member of Lamont United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed attending Lamont Baptist Church in Lamont and both Mt. Zion Church and Community Full Gospel Church in Baker County. She loved people and never met a stranger. She loved making a grand entrance and had a smile and a big, loving bear hug for everyone she came in contact with. Ms. Thompson enjoyed playing bingo at the Baker County Council on Aging, and was an avid college football fan. Her favorite team was the Florida State Seminoles. She also loved watching The Price is Right and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her sisters: Nancy Blanton of Macclenny and Martha (J.C.) Rawls of Lamont, Florida; nieces: Sara Rawls of Lamont, Carrie (DeWayne) Swain of Macclenny, Erin (Gary) Reneau of Glen St. Mary, and Jainee Simon of Glen St. Mary; nephews: John Rawls and Little John Rawls both of Crawfordville, Florida, Buck (Jennifer) Beverly of Callahan and Joseph Swain of Macclenny; aunts: Jimmie (Tommy) Wilkerson of Texas, Mildred Thompson and Elizabeth Bond both of Mississippi; and uncle:Tillman Roebuck of Mississippi. Numerous other family members and many friends also survive. Cissy's family will receive friends for a celebration of her life at the residence at 8448 Brown Road, Macclenny from 4-7:00pm, Thursday, March 31, 2016.
