Mr. David Nathaniel Mullis, age 72, of Bryceville, FL passed away Sunday, November 17th at his home after a long illness. Nathan's final chapter in his four and half years was of a very heroic battle against Alzheimer's. By the grace of his Savior Jesus most people didn't realize he fought hard to stay in control of everyday life. Nathan kept the faith in Jesus he refused to listen to negative reports. Nathan was an example of courage and perseverance to those who have watched him travel this journey.
Nathan was born April 8, 1952 in Alma, Ga to David & Winona Dyal Mullis. Nathan graduated from Camden County High School, Kingsland, Ga. and attended Jones College, Jacksonville, Fl receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Nathan joined The US Air Force at the age of 20 as an Egress Specialist placing the small explosion under the pilot's seat. He retired from the 125th Fighter Wing, as a SMSgt 8 April 2012, with thirty-eight years total service.
During his military career, Nathan qualified marksman numerous times.
Nathan was a devoted husband and best friend to wife Maxie, of fifty- one almost fifty- two years. The two of them loved horseback riding, fishing, camping and spending quality time with family. He leaves behind a gigantic void and will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved him. He was an active member of Christian Fellowship Temple, where he actually served until his health declined.
Nathan is preceded in death by his parents, David and Winona, and a daughter, Rachel E. Weeks.Nathan is survived by his loving wife Maxie, (2) sons Phillip Mullis (Lori), Daniel Mullis (Melissa Manning) (7) grandchildren Colton, Dezirae, Savannah, Zane, Zoe Mullis, Cole Weeks & Olivia Weeks-Mullis. (3) Great grand children Aiden, Delanie Bell, and Brynson Mullis, (2) sisters Marcia Bartimus (Mark), Marlana Macarages (Chris), (1) brother Steven Mullis (Rhonda). A number of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and Military & Christian Family also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. David Nathaniel Mullis will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, November 26th at Christian Fellowship Temple with Pastors David and Timmy Thomas officiating. Visitation and gathering with the family will be from 10 to 11 A.M. (one hour prior to services). Interment will be in the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2 P.M.
