Mr. David D. Phillips, age 80 of Macclenny, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016. Mr. Phillips had been a Baker County resident since moving from Maxville in 1992. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a retired welder and fabricator. He enjoyed building and repairing things and going for walks. Mr. Phillips loved God and shared his faith with everyone he met. He was a member at the First Baptist Church of Maxville and enjoyed singing with the Harmony Four gospel group. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years: Vonnie Phillips; son: Stephen D. Phillips of Jacksonville; daughters: Kathy (Randy) Padgett of Middleburg, Vicki (Michael) Prevatt of Glen St. Mary, and Amy (Robert) Foley of Taylor; brothers: Michael (Rachel) Bratcher of Jacksonville and Jerry Bratcher of Fort White. Seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Maxville with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Burial will follow at Long Branch Cemetery, Maxville.
