David B. Coverdale

Mr. David B. Coverdale, age 76 of Maxville, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Mr. Coverdale was born in Indiana to the late Lee and Elnora Coverdale. After serving in the US Navy, he settled in Maxville and started a family. He was an ordained deacon at First Baptist Church of Maxville, where he was a longtime member. Mr. Coverdale was also a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local 435, American Legion Post 250, and the NRA. He enjoyed fishing, airplanes, and flying. Mr. Coverdale had a heart for people and enjoyed opening his home to friends and others in the community. He especially loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years: Jewell E. Coverdale; son: Clay Coverdale of Maxville; daughter: Traci (Joe) Conroy of Orange Park; grandchildren: Erin, Kelsie, and Tim Conroy; brother: Ted (Sandi) Coverdale of Noblesville, IN; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Joe Coverdale. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Friday, December 15, 2017 at First Baptist-Maxville with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Burial will follow at Long Branch Cemetery, Maxville. The family will receive friends 6-8:00pm, Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the church.
