Dan Zemel

Mr. Dan E. Zemel, age 63 of Panacea, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014. A United States Navy Veteran and a United States Coast Guardsman, Mr. Zemel loved being on the ocean. A licensed boat captain, he enjoyed fishing and boating. He also enjoyed travelling and riding motorcycles. He is survived by a loving companion, Dona Swindle of Crawfordville; daughter: Dawn (David Seman) Stanton of Ohio; step-mother: Helaine Zemel; brothers: Kevin (Andrea) Zemel, Neil Zemel, Glenn (Virginia) Zemel, and Devlin (July) Pierce; sisters: Davida (Sonny) Marshall, Michelle Zemel, Tracy Zemel, Denise (Chris) Cowan, and Dawn Skaggs; one granddaughter: Elena Seman and numerous nieces, nephews, and other friends and family members. He was preceded in death by his parents: Herman Zemel and Frances Pierce, and step-father: Scotty Pierce. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
